Rough numbers first: a custom 2×2 m home dry sauna lands around IDR 60–120 million, an infrared cabin sits at IDR 30–70 million, budget IDR 50–100 million for a steam room, an outdoor cabin spans IDR 80–150 million, a chilled cold plunge comes to IDR 45–90 million, and commercial builds open at IDR 150 million. Count on 2–4 weeks of on-site work for a home sauna, with another 1–2 weeks while materials arrive. An infrared cabin goes up in 1–2 days, an outdoor cabin wants 1–2 weeks, a steam room needs a full 3–5 weeks so the waterproofing can cure properly, a cold plunge takes 1–2 weeks, and commercial fit-outs typically span 4–8 weeks.

Yes — a recovery zone lifts average spend and member LTV, and in the low season becomes a standalone revenue stream. The numbers are on the commercial sauna page.
Some of it, yes: if carpentry is familiar territory, framing and panel work make a workable weekend project. Wiring, the heater and the vapour barrier should stay with a specialist, though. We wrote an honest guide: building your own sauna.
A 6–9 kW heater needs 7,700–11,000 VA — older homes on 2,200–5,500 VA need a PLN upgrade, which we help arrange. Where an upgrade is impossible, an infrared cabin runs on just 1.7–2.4 kW.
Our carpentry is covered by a written 2-year warranty, while heaters from Harvia, Sawo and Tylo carry their own 1–2 year factory cover. Spare parts sit ready in our Indonesian warehouse, so a swap takes days rather than months.
It's a different kind of heat altogether: 70–90°C of dry air at 10–20% humidity has nothing in common with a muggy 33°C harbour-city afternoon. That very contrast is what makes the recovery effect land. The full story is in the tropical climate article.
