A sauna for a busy facility — how is it different from a home build?
Three things: timber, heater, and air. Public rooms get dense-grade wood with a hygienic impregnation that tolerates daily disinfectant wipe-downs, an industrial-class heater with a bigger stone mass so the temperature does not sag every time the door swings, and ventilation engineered for rotating guests rather than a token vent hole. How many hours a day can a commercial sauna actually run?
The units we build for gyms, spas and hotels are rated for up to 16 hours of daily operation. Raw heater power is only half the answer: a large volcanic-stone mass keeps the temperature steady, and a scheduled inspection routine keeps the heating elements healthy under that daily load.
How do you keep a sauna hygienic when dozens of guests use it?
The design has to work for your cleaning team: surfaces that wipe down without damaging the wood, benches that lift for cleaning underneath, a floor that sheds water, and ventilation that dries the cabin out after closing time. At handover we include a written care guide for staff — part of the package, not an extra.
Is there a service contract after handover?
There is, and for commercial facilities we recommend it: a technician visits on schedule to check the heater and stones, re-tighten benches, calibrate sensors and inspect the ventilation. Frequency follows your operating hours. For home saunas it stays optional — many owners simply call us in once a year.
Can our building or house actually power a sauna?
A dry-sauna heater draws 6–9 kW, so the property ideally carries 7,700–11,000 VA; large commercial units run on 3-phase power, which we audit first. Older Surabaya houses typically sit at 2,200–5,500 VA — the PLN upgrade follows official tariffs and we walk the paperwork with you. Where an upgrade is off the table, a 1.7–2.4 kW infrared cabin is the workaround.
What does the heat feel like — and which format suits whom?
Dry sauna: 70–90°C in crisp 10–20% humidity, the favourite of gym members after training. Steam room: 40–45°C wrapped in near-100% fog — the spa staple. Infrared: 45–60°C radiating straight into the body, ideal for homes with limited power. We compare them at length on the steam room page.
Which wood do you use — and why not local hardwood?
Interiors are western red cedar, Scandinavian spruce or thermowood — species that stay stable while being baked at 70–90°C daily. Benches are aspen or abachi, slow heat conductors that stay sittable. We respect ulin and bengkirai as excellent timbers, but their place is outdoor decking: inside a hot room they hold heat like iron.
How long from deposit to handover?
An infrared cabin: 1–2 days of fitting. A home sauna: 2–4 weeks of work plus 1–2 weeks while imported materials arrive. An outdoor cabin: 1–2 weeks of assembly. A steam room: 3–5 weeks, since the waterproofing must cure completely. Commercial projects: 4–8 weeks, including coordination with building management.
What exactly is covered by warranty?
The structure carries our written 2-year warranty. Harvia, Sawo and Tylo heaters bring a 1–2 year factory warranty, with spare parts available through us. And no sauna leaves our hands without a full test heat-up run together with you — never plugged in and abandoned.
We are in a ruko or an apartment — is it still possible?
Possible, via different routes. An infrared cabin is the safest fit for an apartment unit: low power, no wet works. A ground-floor ruko can host a dry sauna or even a steam room if the waterproofing is done seriously — several small fitness studios have started exactly there. How far does your service area reach?
We are based in Gubeng, with free surveys across Greater Surabaya. Sidoarjo, Gresik and the wider Jawa Timur run on a regular visiting schedule — commercial projects in the industrial estates often come from exactly there. The full list is on the areas page.
What is the ballpark budget?
Commercial builds from IDR 150 million; a complete wellness zone from 250 million; a custom home sauna 60–120 million; budget builds from 40 million; infrared 30–70 million; steam rooms 50–100 million; outdoor cabins 80–150 million. A photo or a rough floor plan of the space is enough to open the conversation. Gym and hotel operators: add your opening hours and an estimated daily guest count so the format recommendation lands right the first time.
