Why two saunas of the same size can cost very different money

Operating hours and guest turnoverA family cabin heats up a few evenings a week; a gym sauna cycles guests through for up to 16 hours a day. That kind of duty calls for a commercial heater, dense-grade timber, and ventilation sized for a door that never stays shut.

Timber grade and finishingLight pinewood keeps compact builds affordable; western red cedar is the family standard; commercial thermowood goes into public rooms because it survives routine disinfection without discolouring.

Heater configurationFrom a single-phase Harvia 3.6 kW up to twin 10.5 kW units on 3-phase power sharing the load in a club sauna — the heater and its controller are the biggest import after the wood itself.

Electrical readiness of the buildingOlder houses often sit at 2,200–5,500 VA while a 6–9 kW heater wants 7,700–11,000 VA; for commercial buildings we audit the 3-phase panel first. PLN upgrades follow official tariffs, are paid by the owner, and we walk the paperwork through with you.

One quote, everything in writing

The full structure: framing, 50 mm rockwool, an aluminium-foil vapour barrier, the air gap, imported panelling, benches, an 8 mm tempered-glass door and lighting.

Electrical work done properly: heat-rated SiHF heat-proof cabling, its own breaker circuit and an ELCB — with PLN paperwork support whenever capacity has to rise.

A witnessed test heat-up before handover, a written 2-year structural warranty, a 1–2 year factory heater warranty, and an optional scheduled-service contract for commercial facilities.

Our facility is busy — which sauna format fits a gym or spa?

Work from your peak-hour guest flow: up to a dozen users rotating through, the 12-person format (IDR 230–290 million) stays comfortable; beyond that, the 20-person club class with twin heaters starts at IDR 300 million. Do you offer a maintenance contract for a sauna that runs daily?

Yes. After handover, commercial facilities can take a scheduled service contract: heater and stone checks, bench re-tightening, temperature-sensor calibration and ventilation inspection. The frequency follows your operating hours, and we price it alongside the quote so the true cost of ownership is visible from day one.

How does payment run?

A 50% deposit once you approve the design and quote — at that point imported materials are ordered and your installation slot is locked. The balance is due at handover, after a full test heat-up witnessed by you. For registered businesses, invoicing follows whatever your finance team needs.

Why is everything quoted as a range?

Because that is the honest shape of the answer: floor area, timber grade, heater configuration and the state of your wiring all move the total in real money. Promising one exact figure before a survey would be guessing. What is exact is the itemized quote after measurement — and that costs nothing.

What does a sauna cost to operate once installed?

For home use with 2–3 sessions weekly, a dry sauna runs IDR 200–500K a month, an infrared cabin IDR 100–250K, a steam room IDR 300–600K. Commercial rooms differ because they burn far longer hours — we project those costs from your operating schedule as part of the quote.
